Cathmedical Cardiovascular was founded more than 35 years ago by the García Vergara family, the company’s main partners and shareholders.

From its beginnings, the company focused on the distribution and sale of computerised haemodynamic monitoring systems, acting as a distributor for well-known brands such as Mennen Medical and later Witt Biomedical.

During the 1990s, Cathmedical consolidated its position in the field of Interventional Cardiology, achieving a 70% market share in haemodynamic monitoring systems.

Cathmedical was also a pioneer in the field of cardiac imaging, introducing the digitalisation of legacy X-ray catheterisation laboratories, as well as the first DICOM CD-based cath labs, replacing film and robotic image archiving systems.

The company was among the first Spanish organisations to import haemodynamic systems for electrophysiology laboratories, successfully expanding into this specialised field.

Throughout more than 20 years of activity, Cathmedical has maintained a strong commitment to innovation, developing new technologies for cardiac catheterisation laboratories. Today, with nationwide implementation, the company continues to strengthen its focus on advanced technologies and new medical horizons.

Cathmedical also has its own Research and Development department, which has developed the first Spanish computerised haemodynamic monitoring system, entirely designed, developed and manufactured with Spanish capital — a source of great pride as an innovative company within the sector.

The company is supported by a highly qualified team that has grown steadily over the years, along with international collaborators, enabling Cathmedical to provide high-level technical support and pursue international expansion.

The continuity and dynamism of Cathmedical are further reinforced by the active involvement of the founders’ children, who play an integral role within the organisation.
